Families and individuals in the South Bay area will need the help of an experienced probate attorney when the inevitable happens. Estate planning and trust litigation can be a long, stressful, and arduous process. Clients will require the services of a probate lawyer to retitle assets, settle debts and final bills and make final distributions to heirs.
Our coworking space in Los Angeles provides amenities that allow estate planning, probate and trust litigation attorneys to serve clients in a secure and supportive environment. A Los Angeles shared office space offers solo entrepreneurs all the necessities to meet with clients and carry out trial preparations.
Q. In one sentence, describe what your company does.
A: My company is a solo law firm with a primary practice area of estate planning and probate and trust litigation.
Q. What is the problem you're solving?
A: Helping families and individuals navigate through or around the probate legal process.
Q. What brought your company to Los Angeles, and what do you like about the startup ecosystem here?
A: I am a native Angelino and have lived in the area my whole life. I am attracted to the coworking/startup ecosystem over the traditional law firm environment. As a solo practitioner, it helps me to provide an attractive work environment for my clients and helps me to feel like I am not alone while at work, although I work by myself.
Q. How has being a part of the Cross Campus community helped you or your business
A: The Cross Campus community has helped my business by providing the infrastructure a law firm would need in a coworking space in Los Angeles. This includes amenities such as internet, coop workspace, conference rooms, and staff so I do not need to worry about those things.
Q. What has been your most satisfying moment in business?
A: My most satisfying moment is when I can prevail in court because I am on the right side instead of winning on some technicality.
Q. Talk about a time you (or your company) failed at a goal you needed to achieve.
A: In any court case, you can never guarantee how a judge will rule. So, most of what I do is try to prepare a case that gives my client the best chance. However, sometimes you just do not have a good set of facts or laws on your side.
Q. How do you and/or your company define success?
A: I define success as working toward good outcomes for my clients and being a zealous advocate. However, sometimes a good outcome means explaining the facts of life to a client and making the best settlement possible.
Q. If your company was a superhero, who would it be and why?
A: My personal legal superhero was Thurgood Marshall. Beyond great odds, he was a personal success in his own right but also impacted the lives of millions of people as an attorney and then as a Supreme Court Justice. So, I see being a lawyer like Justice Marshall as my role model.
Q. Who do you respect the most, and why?
A: The individual whom I respect the most is Martin Luther King, Jr. Every MLK Day, I reflect that he changed the lives of millions of people by the time he was 39! It is humbling to reflect on what contributions to our community I have made compared to Dr. King.
Q. Where do you see yourself and your business in 10 years?
A: In ten years, I want to continue to have a robust law practice that has grown and is thriving and no longer solo!
