As President Obama's term in office comes to a close, we're revisiting the day that #44 came to Cross Campus Santa Monica to deliver a town hall for a select group of members and guests.
(As we close out 2016 and launch our new website, we’re reposting some of our favorite blogs from the past few years. This entry is #1 on our Top 10 list.)
On Oct. 9, 2014, America’s 44th president came to Cross Campus Santa Monica to meet with some of its members and to hold a town hall-style meeting on the economy, entrepreneurship, technology, and the millennial generation.
The visit included extended interactions with several Cross Campus members and over an hour of free-form Q&A for the the 100+ guests in attendance.
“When I come to places like this, it inspires me and reminds me of why I am chronically optimistic about the future of America,” the president said during his remarks.
He added, "A lot of you entered the workforce during the worst recession since the Great Depression. And that makes it easy for cynics to write you off as some kind of lost generation. But I don’t buy that. Because when I travel around the country, I see the kind of energy, hope, and determination that you display here."
Thank you, Mr. President, for your eight years of service to America.
And we hereby extend a standing invitation to #45 to join us here at Cross Campus.
