Like-minded people discussing how to create space in our Data, Software Engineering, and Digital Marketing teams for future generations!

About this Event

We are holding a webinar on the 14th of October from 11am to 12pm to discuss how we can create more space in our Data, Software Engineering, and Digital Marketing teams for future generations! This event aims to join like-minded people in discussing actionable steps to apply within their tech teams so feel free to join and bring your colleagues and friends who are passionate about this subject.

The world of work has adapted to the changes brought by the Industrial Revolution, but with the boom in Artificial intelligence, Automation, and Robotics, the workforce will change like never before. In the next ten to fifteen years, the adoption of new technologies will transform the workplace as people increasingly interact with ever-smarter machines.

The skills we learnt throughout our careers and studies have become rather obsolete since the adoption of new technologies has brought several opportunities but also countless challenges to the workforce.

The digital skills gap and the need to bring more people into Tech careers are on everyone’s agenda. These changes will require employees to upskill and, in most cases, reinvent their careers.

Speakers:

Chichi Eruchalu - Digital Pathway Lead, WhiteHat

Chichi Eruchalu is responsible for the delivery of the digital and tech programmes across WhiteHat and manages a growing team of coaches and associates. Prior to this, she ran her own consulting practice, supporting organisations with business strategy and marketing and led transformation projects at HSBC as a Digital Project Manager.

Holly Boothroyd - Software Engineer II, Microsoft

Holly is a multi-award-winning Microsoft Software Engineer II, founder of HerHelloWorld, and D&I advocate! She previously worked on Paint 3D and Xbox, and is currently developing Cortana in Windows. She is on the Technical Women at Microsoft Board and works with internal and external organizations to empower women and help others realize their full-potential.

Rich Davies - Director, Data & Insight , WhiteHat

Rich helps ensure that everyone at WhiteHat has access to the data and insights they need to make better decisions and help the apprentices thrive. He was previously a Director at Ark Schools, having also been a Project Leader at the Boston Consulting Group. He is an alumnus of Stanford University (USA), Oxford University (England) and Amman Valley Comprehensive School (Wales).

Zoe Higgins - Data Science Apprentice, Santander UK

Zoe is working at Santander on her way to achieving a Level 6 qualification in Data Science. Her programme has allowed her to acquire knowledge about Machine Learning and Data Analytics within the finance sector. She is passionate about promoting both apprenticeships and data science.

Richard Ng - Coding Instructor, Black Codher

Richard works with organisations helping get underrepresented groups get into tech. He runs teacher training for Code Your Future (free coding courses for refugees), he's building an online course for Coders of Colour (free coding workshops for young BAME people), and he's an instructor and mentor with Black Codher (free coding courses for black women). He's a former WhiteHat software engineering coach, former edtech software engineer and was originally a secondary mathematics teacher.

Lauren Dawson - Data Coach , WhiteHat

Lauren originally trained as a Physicist where she learnt how to code, and developed her skills as a Data Analyst. She then travelled to Tennis tournaments around the globe, working for Hawkeye as a Software Engineer, before returning to academia to complete her Ph.D. in Particle Physics. This was when she became interested in Data Science, as something new and exciting to use in her final analysis. Throughout her career, she has always enjoyed teaching (including Yoga) and was excited by the opportunity to join WhiteHat as a Coach.
